Senior Platform Engineer (Fall 2026)

Come join us at Masterpoint where we build rock-solid cloud platforms for our clients through Infrastructure as Code (IaC). We’re looking for our next great platform engineer to architect, automate, and deliver platforms using OpenTofu, Terraform, and other modern tooling.

What You’ll Do

As a platform engineer, you’ll spend your days building automated, secure platforms with IaC. You’ll work hands-on with clients to design, build, document, and operate IaC workflows they can run with confidence.

Expect to:

• Write and automate IaC code to build and manage infrastructure across multiple clients.
• Orchestrate infrastructure and applications running on AWS, GCP, Azure, and similar vendors.
• Build automation pipelines (we’re big on GitHub Actions and Spacelift).
• Leverage AI tools to generate IaC and automate infrastructure tasks including provisioning, maintaining, and monitoring infrastructure.
• Build and integrate AI-powered workflows to improve platform reliability, reduce toil, and accelerate delivery.
• Stay current on AI tooling capabilities (LLMs, agents, automation platforms) and identify opportunities to implement AI-driven solutions that reduce manual overhead.
• Document, knowledge-share, and upskill so clients are ready to own their platform.
• Provide consultative advice to clients on the right architecture, patterns, and way of thinking for their long-term success.
• Script with Bash, Python, or TypeScript to glue things together when IaC isn’t enough.
• Integrate and automate 3rd-party SaaS tools (Spacelift, Tailscale, DataDog, etc.).

What You Bring

Must-Haves

• North America-based only at this time. Applicants must be located in North America and currently authorized to work in their country of residence on a full-time basis. Masterpoint does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
• Strong people and soft skills. You can’t be a good team member or consultant without knowing how to work with people. We value this above pretty much everything else.
• 3+ years hands-on in the modern IaC ecosystem (Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi).
• Experience building infra on the cloud. AWS + Azure experience are in top demand right now, but GCP experience is useful as well.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, and similar) and a strong willingness to integrate AI into your daily work.
• 5+ years in the software industry.
• Solid Unix background (Mac/Linux). Windows isn’t our thing.

Nice-to-Haves

• Terraform frameworks like Terragrunt, Atmos, or Terramate.
• Policy as code experience with a specific focus on OPA + Rego.
• IaC orchestration tools like Spacelift, Atlantis, Terraform Cloud, or Scalr.
• Real-world experience with container orchestration (K8s, ECS, or similar).
• SRE background and the ability to navigate observability tooling like a pro.
• Cloud security chops so you can help clients navigate compliance frameworks and remediate infrastructure security concerns.
• Broader IaC exposure (Crossplane, CDK, etc.).
• Experience building AI-powered automation for infrastructure operations.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or agentic workflows for operational automation.
